Police Regional Office Negros Island Region Embraces Swift Police Response
BACOLod City – The Police Regional Office Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) is firmly committed to meeting the five-minute response time for police assistance set by the national headquarters. Police Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, the PRO-NIR chief, emphasized that this swift police response is now a top priority for their personnel.
In a recent media interview at the Bacolod City Police Office, Ibay underlined that all NIR officers will strive to follow the directive of the Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Gen. Nicolas Torre III. He pointed out the importance of deploying policemen outside of police stations to enhance their visibility in communities, which supports faster intervention when incidents occur.
Command Conference Strengthens Immediate Police Response
During a command visit last week, Gen. Torre held a conference with Ibay and other PRO-NIR officials. While no new orders were given, Torre reiterated the existing instruction to maintain immediate police response. “We were told to respond immediately as needed,” Ibay said, highlighting the urgency of the directive.
To ensure compliance with this swift police response, Ibay requested additional personnel for the Negros Island Region. This move aims to strengthen the capacity of officers to meet the five-minute standard and improve overall public safety.
Local Police Offices Rally Behind Response Time Goal
Both the Bacolod City Police Office and the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office assured they are fully aligned with the directive. Local leaders noted that these response time standards have long been part of their crime prevention efforts.
With proactive measures and ongoing support, the police forces in the Negros Island Region remain focused on protecting communities and reacting quickly to emergencies. Their commitment to the five-minute response time reflects a broader push for safer neighborhoods.
