Rizal Police Arrest Three in P1.6M Shabu Bust
LUZON — Police officers apprehended three suspects during anti-illegal drug operations on July 12 in Rodriguez, Rizal. The operation recovered shabu worth over P1.6 million and an illegal firearm, officials said.
The Calabarzon Police Regional Office (PRO 4A) reported that the suspects, known locally as “Didog,” “Mentong,” and “Joy,” were caught after selling P1,000 worth of crystal meth to an undercover agent. The buy-bust took place at around 10:15 p.m. in Barangay Burgos, Rodriguez town.
Details of the Seizure and Arrests
Authorities found five heat-sealed sachets containing about 172 grams of suspected shabu, valued at approximately P1,169,600 based on the Dangerous Drugs Board’s price of P6,800 per gram. They also seized a digital weighing scale from the suspects, sources said.
During a frisk, police discovered that “Didog” was carrying an undocumented .22 caliber pistol loaded with two bullets. All three suspects are now in police custody awaiting charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Additionally, Didog faces charges for illegal possession of a firearm.
