Police Seize P2.1M Drugs in Batangas Rizal Operations
Police recently conducted buy-bust operations in Batangas and Rizal provinces, successfully seizing illegal drugs worth P2.1 million. These coordinated efforts also led to the arrest of four suspected drug traffickers.
On July 6, at around 2:12 a.m., authorities in Batangas City arrested a suspect known only as “Crisanto.” He was caught after selling P7,000 worth of illegal drugs to an undercover officer in Barangay Cuta, according to local law enforcement sources.
Recovered from Crisanto were seven sachets containing suspected shabu (crystal meth) weighing 145 grams and valued at nearly P986,000. Additionally, police seized an eco-bag filled with dried marijuana leaves weighing 940 grams, worth about P112,800.
During a routine frisk, officers found that Crisanto was carrying an unlicensed .32-caliber pistol loaded with four bullets. Authorities identified him as a high-value individual (HVI) in the illegal drug trade, a term used for financiers, traffickers, syndicate leaders, and manufacturers involved in drug operations.
Additional Arrests in Rizal Province
Meanwhile, on the night before, a separate anti-drug team arrested three suspects—“Mark,” “John,” and “Aries”—in Barangay San Juan, Taytay, Rizal at around 1 a.m. The suspects were caught with five sachets of suspected shabu weighing 150 grams and valued at over P1 million.
Police also confiscated a .22-caliber revolver loaded with two bullets and a digital weighing scale, essential for drug distribution. “Mark” was identified as an HVI, while his companions were considered street-level pushers in the area.
Authorities seized two mobile phones during the arrests. These devices are now undergoing digital forensic analysis to check for any drug transaction records.
Charges and Next Steps
All four suspects remain in police custody. They will face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and for illegal possession of firearms, local officials confirmed.
These operations demonstrate the police’s ongoing commitment to combat illegal drug activities in the Calabarzon region. For more news and updates on drug enforcement efforts, visit Filipinokami.com.
