Police Seize P3.4 Million Suspected Shabu in Cotabato City
Authorities confiscated suspected shabu worth P3.4 million and arrested two women, including a minor, during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion 5, Cotabato City. The operation took place on the evening of August 8, according to sources from the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP DEG).
The police recovered approximately 500 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine in the raid. The two arrested individuals were identified as “Bai,” a 38-year-old woman considered a high-value target, and “Monambai,” a 16-year-old female.
Custody and Next Steps for Suspects
“Bai” was taken to Police Station 1 in Cotabato City for processing and appropriate legal procedures. Meanwhile, the minor “Monambai,” classified as a child in conflict with the law (CICL), was placed under the care of the City Social Development and Welfare Office, local officials noted.
Laboratory Examination Scheduled
The confiscated substances are set for laboratory testing by the Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Forensic Unit to confirm their nature. Authorities continue their efforts to curb illegal drug trade in the region through such targeted operations.
