Police Seize P5-Million Suspected Shabu in Zambales Bust
CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Authorities in Zambales successfully seized P5-million worth of suspected shabu during a recent buy-bust operation. A high-value individual was also arrested, local officials said. This major drug bust took place in Barangay Linasin, San Marcelino town, as part of coordinated efforts by the Zambales Police Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and the San Marcelino Municipal Police Station.
The seized contraband included approximately 755 grams of suspected shabu, which carries an estimated street value of P5,134,000. The police described this operation as a critical move to stop the spread of illegal drugs and reduce crime in the region.
Strong Commitment to Fight Illegal Drugs
“This significant drug bust is a crucial step in curbing the spread of addiction and crime in our region. We will not allow illegal drugs to destroy the future of our people,” Police Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, PRO-3 chief, emphasized. The operation was conducted on Independence Day, underscoring the authorities’ resolve to protect communities from drug-related harm.
The suspect is currently in the custody of the San Marcelino Municipal Police and faces charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Law enforcers continue to intensify their efforts to dismantle drug networks and bring offenders to justice.
