PPCRV Awaits Transmitted Votes Data from Comelec
The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) is still waiting to receive 18% of the transmitted votes from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to fully match the election results data. Currently, PPCRV holds 79.9% of the transmitted votes, while Comelec has reported 98% transmission.
PPCRV spokesperson Ana Singson explained, “Nandito yung file sa transparency server, but not in a format na mako-convert namin so we publish it to you. So, yung format has to be in a format we can process. We’re waiting for the processable data (from Comelec).” In other words, although the file is available on the transparency server, it is not yet in a format that PPCRV can process and publish.
Importance of the Missing Transmitted Votes Data
Singson also mentioned that PPCRV has yet to receive any explanation from Comelec regarding the delay. “We have faith that there will be an explanation, that there will be transparency and a full explanation,” she said.
She expressed concern about the speed of data availability, noting, “Sayang lang po na ang bilis pero hindi nakikita with the same speed.” This means that while the votes were cast quickly, the public cannot see the transmitted votes with equal speed.
The missing 18% of transmitted votes is significant because it could influence the final rankings in the senatorial race. According to Singson, “You’re talking about 98% and we’re not seeing 18%. That could affect the last two to three positions of the senatorial race, so that’s huge.”
