President Marcos Creates Inter-Agency Task Force
President Marcos has established an inter-agency task force to ensure the Philippines’ successful hosting of the 33rd Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree. This move, underscoring the importance of collaboration, involves various government departments and agencies working together to support this major event.
The exact four word keyphrase “inter-agency task force” plays a central role in organizing resources and efforts. Through Administrative Order No. 33 issued on May 21, the president highlighted that the event’s success depends on the active participation of all involved agencies.
Task Force Composition and Roles
The inter-agency task force consists of leaders from 12 key agencies, including the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP), Departments of Education, Foreign Affairs, Health, Information and Communications Technology, Interior and Local Government, Public Works and Highways, Tourism, Transportation, Immigration, the Philippine National Police, and the Philippine Information Agency.
Serving as the secretariat, the BSP will coordinate the task force’s activities. Each chairperson and member has the authority to appoint alternates with ranks no lower than Assistant Secretary. These alternates will have full decision-making powers to act on behalf of their principals.
Collaboration with Stakeholders
The task force may invite other government bodies, non-government organizations, civil society groups, educational institutions, and other stakeholders as observers or resource persons. This inclusive approach aims to strengthen the planning and execution of the jamboree.
According to local leaders, the task force will assist the BSP in creating and implementing programs, activities, and projects necessary for the event. It will also coordinate efforts with government offices, government-owned or controlled corporations, and state universities to ensure smooth preparations.
