President Marcos Jr. Commits to Full Effort
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. assured the nation on Monday that he will give his all during the remaining three years of his presidency. In his fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) delivered in Quezon City, the president underscored the country’s strong economic performance but emphasized the need to deepen efforts to improve everyday lives.
“If we base it on data, our economy is doing well, confidence level of businessmen is high. Employment went up and inflation went down,” he said in Filipino, highlighting key economic indicators.
Despite these positive signs, Marcos warned that these achievements are just “merely decorative” and “meaningless” if Filipinos continue to face hardships in their daily lives. He vowed that in the final three years of this administration, the government’s focus will be to not only maintain but surpass efforts to bring comfort and relief to the people.
Economic Growth and Employment as Key Priorities
The president stressed that employment remains the most effective shield against poverty and hunger. He specifically mentioned that the Departments of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Trade and Industry (DTI), Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Tourism (DOT), and other agencies will continue searching for opportunities to assist the remaining four percent of the labor force still unemployed.
Marcos also pledged ongoing support to entrepreneurs by providing capital and free training to help start small businesses and microenterprises. This initiative aims to stimulate local economies and create more jobs across the country.
Local leaders noted that this renewed focus on employment and entrepreneurship reflects the administration’s commitment to inclusive growth and poverty reduction.
Looking Ahead
As the administration moves forward, the government’s priority will be to translate economic gains into tangible benefits for all Filipinos. The president’s call to action signals a determined push to alleviate daily struggles through sustainable development and social support programs.
