Government Agencies Monitor Tropical Depression Crising
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has directed government agencies to closely monitor the status and impact of Tropical Depression Crising. The president’s order aims to ensure prompt and coordinated responses to this weather disturbance, local officials said.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) raised a blue alert as of 11 a.m. last Wednesday. This alert level activates pre-disaster risk assessment efforts and a coordinated response to protect communities potentially affected by Tropical Depression Crising.
Continuous Monitoring and Updates from PAGASA
According to reports, the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (DOST-PAGASA) is continuously tracking the tropical depression. They provide regular weather updates and advisories to local stakeholders and the public to keep everyone informed.
Meanwhile, the NDRRMC has activated its Virtual Emergency Operation Center to manage real-time information and facilitate swift action. Officials continue to monitor the situation closely and disseminate relevant advisories to safeguard communities.
Preparedness of Local Agencies
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) stand ready to respond to any emergency needs. These agencies coordinate with local governments to ensure timely assistance and disaster relief operations if necessary.
In its latest bulletin at 11 a.m., PAGASA reported that Tropical Depression Crising maintains its intensity while moving north-northwest over waters east of Catanduanes. The system was last located approximately 520 kilometers east-northeast of Juban, Sorsogon, and 470 kilometers east-northeast of Virac, Catanduanes, sources said.
Authorities continue to urge the public to stay alert, follow official advisories, and prepare accordingly. The government is committed to minimizing the effects of Tropical Depression Crising through diligent monitoring and coordinated response.
