President Marcos Promotes eGovPH Super App
President Marcos has encouraged more Filipinos to embrace the eGovPH super app for government transactions, highlighting its ease of use and accessibility from the comfort of home. Community members noted that the app is designed to be as simple and intuitive as popular social media platforms, making it convenient for all users.
During the app’s development, the President emphasized the need for a user-friendly interface. Officials reported that he insisted the eGovPH super app should be straightforward enough for even those not tech-savvy to navigate easily.
“I made sure that while the code was still being written, my constant reminder was that the app needs to be simple. It should be very easy to use and to be understood by everyone,” President Marcos said in a recent podcast episode. “My instruction was that our eGovPH app should be as easy as using the Facebook app,” he added. “Users do not need to be taught how to use the app; what we need to do is just inform the public that an app like this is already available.”
Streamlining Government Transactions Digitally
The Department of Information and Communications Technology launched the eGovPH super app in December 2022 to simplify government transactions nationwide. Local leaders noted that this initiative supports the Marcos administration’s drive to modernize bureaucracy through digitalization.
Users can file applications, track requests, verify identities, and eventually make payments online via their phones, tablets, or computers. This eliminates the need to visit government offices physically, saving time and effort.
Moreover, digital versions of various government IDs are accessible through the app. These include the national ID, senior citizen’s ID, Professional Regulation Commission ID, and overseas Filipino worker ID, among others.
Access to Multiple Government Services
Community members said that through the eGovPH super app, users can also reach major government agencies such as the Social Security System, Government Service Insurance System, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and Pag-IBIG Fund.
Since its launch, the app has been downloaded by over 12 million users and facilitated more than 150 million transactions involving both national and local government units.
Advancing Digitalization to Improve Service
President Marcos stressed the importance of digital tools in government operations. “Because that’s the only way to do it. You cannot operate in 2025 when you need to physically go to government offices, manually fill out forms and fall in line for hours just to transact with the government,” he remarked.
He added that the app’s simplicity allows even senior citizens and students unfamiliar with computers to complete government transactions with ease.
In a July statement, the President vowed that the eGovPH system would help eradicate corruption and red tape. “No lines, no fixers, no corruption. That’s what we get because of the eGov app and one-stop shop that we inaugurated,” he said.
Supporting Citizens Through the eGovPH Serbisyo Hub
The eGovPH Serbisyo Hub acts as a physical extension of the digital ecosystem. Officials explained that it assists citizens who prefer face-to-face interactions while still benefiting from streamlined, technology-enabled processes.
Building a Digitally Competitive Philippines
President Marcos emphasized expanding online government transactions as vital for the country’s competitiveness. “It’s absolutely imperative now that children know how to use a computer, they know how to use the internet, and they know how to do work on the internet. It’s not an option anymore,” he stated.
