Public Disappointment and Politics in Eleksyon 2025 Reflected

Public Sentiment on Eleksyon 2025 Revealed

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. recently shared two key insights regarding the Eleksyon 2025. First, he observed that many Filipinos have grown weary of politics. “Una, nagsawa na ang Pilipino sa pulitika. Sawang-sawa na sa pulitika. Ang mensahe, sa amin lahat – hindi lamang sa akin, kung hindi sa aming lahat – tama na ‘yung pamumulitika ninyo at kami naman ang asikasuhin ninyo,” he said during a podcast with a broadcaster.

This sentiment highlights a widespread desire among voters for politicians to step back from constant politicking and instead focus on governance and public service.

Focus on Governance After Elections

Following this, the President emphasized the importance of elected officials dedicating themselves to their responsibilities. “Tama rin naman eh. Iyan naman talaga ang dapat nating ginagawa. Kaya mabuti, o tapos na ‘yung eleksyon, tama na ‘yung pulitika. Tama na ‘yung pulitika. Magtrabaho – gawin na natin lahat ng kailangang gawin,” he stated, urging leaders to act decisively for the country’s benefit.

Public Disappointment with Government Service

The second conclusion he shared was the public’s disappointment with government service. Marcos pointed out, “Iyong pangalawa, disappointed ang tao sa serbisyo ng gobyerno. Hindi nila nararamdaman at masyadong mabagal ang galaw nang pagbubuo ng mga project na hindi pa nila maramdaman.” This reflects concerns about slow implementation of projects and a gap between government efforts and public experience.

Reflection on Election Outcomes

Over the weekend, the President reflected on the outcome of the 2025 midterm elections, expressing a wish for better results. Out of the 12 newly elected senators, six were endorsed by the President’s coalition, Alyansa Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas. These include Senators-elect Erwin Tulfo, Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, Pia Cayetano, Camille Villar, and Lito Lapid.

These observations underscore a critical moment in the Eleksyon 2025, where public fatigue with politics and dissatisfaction with government services are clear challenges for officials moving forward.
