Quezon City Police District Recovers Shabu in Buy-Bust Operation
Authorities from the Quezon City Police District successfully recovered shabu during a carefully planned buy-bust operation along University Avenue corner Manatili Area, Maayusin Extension, Barangay San Vicente, Quezon City on Tuesday, June 11. The suspect, known by the alias “Alberto,” 56, and a resident of Barangay San Vicente, was caught in the act. Police operatives, working closely with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – National Capital Region (PDEA-NCR), executed the operation at about 5:45 p.m.
Undercover Agent Buys P35,000 Worth of Shabu
During the buy-bust, an undercover police officer posed as a buyer and successfully purchased approximately P35,000 worth of suspected shabu from the suspect. This led directly to Alberto’s arrest on the scene. Authorities recovered around 52.1 grams of suspected shabu, along with a mobile phone and the buy-bust money.
Previous Records and Charges
Verification through the Investigation Solution Automatic Verification (ISAV) system revealed that the suspect has a history of similar offenses, with prior records dating back to March and July 2021. Local leaders noted that this repeat violation underscores the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement.
Alberto will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. This law governs the handling and penalties related to illegal drug offenses in the country.
