Large Shabu Bust in Quezon City
Authorities from Quezon City Police District (QCPD) successfully seized shabu valued at 13,600,000 pesos during a buy-bust operation on San Mateo Road, Barangay Batasan Hills. The arrest happened on the evening of Tuesday, May 27.
Local law enforcement officials worked closely with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) to carry out the sting, which unfolded around 9:35 p.m. The coordinated effort led to the capture of a suspect identified only as alias “Jessie,” a 43-year-old resident of Antipolo, Rizal.
Details of the Buy-Bust Operation
According to reports, a police officer posed as a buyer and negotiated with the suspect. During the transaction, the officer purchased shabu worth 800,000 pesos, which directly resulted in the suspect’s arrest. Authorities recovered two kilograms of shabu, the suspect’s wallet, phone, and the buy-bust money.
Charges and Legal Actions
The suspect now faces legal charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Community leaders confirm that law enforcement remains committed to curbing illegal drug activities in the area.
