Quezon City Scholarship Program Opens for 2025-2026
The Quezon City Scholarship Program is now accepting applications for the school year 2025-2026. Residents of Quezon City holding a valid QCitizen ID are eligible to apply, provided they are not currently enrolled in any other scholarship offered by local government units.
Applicants pursuing senior high school, college, or vocational education can submit their applications online through the QC eServices portal. The Quezon City Scholarship Program aims to widen educational access and support deserving students throughout the city.
City Leaders Highlight the Program’s Impact
Mayor Joy Belmonte emphasized the importance of the Quezon City Scholarship Program in making education more accessible. She said, “Investing in our students is investing in the future of our city.” According to local leaders, the growing number of scholars reflects the city’s dedication to closing education gaps and creating equal opportunities.
The mayor added, “Beyond academic support, our scholarship program empowers students to become active contributors to nation-building.” This initiative not only provides financial assistance but also encourages scholars to engage in leadership and community activities organized by the city.
Scholarship Growth and Benefits
For the school year 2024–2025, nearly 40,000 Quezon City residents have benefited from the scholarship program. Following the approval of Ordinance No. SP-3283, S-2024, which expanded scholarship categories and increased financial aid, over 17,000 scholars received support.
In addition to tuition coverage and semestral stipends, scholars gain access to mentorship programs. They are also encouraged to participate in leadership workshops and community engagement, fostering holistic development beyond academics.
Success Stories and Future Goals
To date, almost 15,000 graduates from the Quezon City Scholarship Program have embarked on careers in business, information technology, engineering, education, and more. This underscores the program’s role in shaping skilled professionals who contribute to society.
Mayor Belmonte has committed to doubling the number of scholars by 2028, reinforcing Quezon City’s pledge to inclusive, progressive education. This bold goal signals the city’s ongoing commitment to nurturing talent and providing opportunities for all.
