Quezon City Halts Classes for State of the Nation Address
Quezon City announced the suspension of all classes, both public and private, across all levels on Monday, July 28. This decision was made to allow residents to focus on President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s fourth State of the Nation Address.
The Quezon City government, led by Mayor Joy Belmonte, issued Executive Order No. 10, Series of 2025, formalizing the class suspension. Officials explained that this move aims to encourage everyone to listen to the State of the Nation Address and to ease the city’s traffic congestion.
Encouraging Public Engagement and Traffic Relief
Local authorities emphasized that the suspension is designed not only for the public to engage with the president’s key messages but also to help avoid traffic jams that typically build up during such major events. “The suspension is intended to encourage everyone to listen to the State of the Nation Address of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and to help the public avoid getting stuck in traffic,” the local government stated.
