Rain Showers and Thunderstorms Forecast Across Metro Manila
Metro Manila and nine provinces in Luzon are expected to experience rain showers and thunderstorms early Saturday, local weather authorities said. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued a thunderstorm advisory predicting moderate to heavy rains with lightning and strong winds.
The forecast covers Metro Manila and the nearby provinces of Cavite, Rizal, Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Bataan, Nueva Ecija, Batangas, and Laguna. Residents in these areas should prepare for wet and stormy conditions throughout the day.
Areas with Ongoing Storms and Precautionary Warnings
Authorities noted that parts of Zambales, including San Antonio, Castillejos, and San Marcelino, are already experiencing such weather, which may continue for the next two hours and possibly affect adjacent towns. “All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards, which include flash floods and landslides,” officials urged.
Tropical Depression Emong Leaves Philippine Area
Earlier Saturday morning, Tropical Depression Emong, internationally known as Co-may, exited the Philippine area of responsibility at 7:10 a.m., sources said. Despite Emong’s departure, the weather disturbances continue to affect several parts of Luzon.
Residents are encouraged to stay updated on weather developments and heed local warnings to ensure safety amid the rainy conditions.
