Rain to Persist in Luzon Amid Southwest Monsoon
MANILA, Philippines — Rain showers are set to persist in Luzon as the southwest monsoon, known locally as the habagat, continues to influence the weather. Meanwhile, hot weather is expected across Visayas and Mindanao on Tuesday, sources said.
According to weather experts, the habagat will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain to Metro Manila and most parts of Luzon, except for Mimaropa and the Bicol region. Despite mostly clear skies in these areas, there remains a high chance of rain during early morning, afternoon, and evening hours.
Hot Weather Forecast for Visayas and Mindanao
From noon to afternoon, Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao will experience hot weather conditions. Although the habagat still affects these regions, it is no longer expected to deliver significant rainfall. Showers may occur sporadically, especially in the early morning and late hours.
Currently, no tropical cyclones or low-pressure areas are being tracked within or near the Philippine Area of Responsibility. However, the recent tropical cyclones Co-May (formerly Emong) and Krosa, though now outside monitoring zones, continue to enhance the habagat’s effects.
Weather Outlook Remains Dynamic
Residents are advised to stay updated as weather conditions may shift. The enduring presence of the habagat means scattered rains will continue to dampen parts of Luzon, while heat intensifies in other areas. Local authorities urge vigilance, especially in flood-prone zones.
