Jackie Lou Blanco Opens Up About Family Loss
Seasoned actress Jackie Lou Blanco recently revealed heartbreaking news about Ricky Davao, who passed away unaware that his mother-in-law, Pilita Corrales, had also died. The actress shared how the family chose not to inform Ricky about Pilita’s death during his final days.
Even now, Jackie Lou’s heart remains heavy from the back-to-back farewells to both Pilita and Ricky. In a candid conversation, she reflected on the deep sorrow her family continues to endure.
Deciding Not to Tell Ricky
During an interview, Jackie Lou recounted their difficult decision: “In the beginning, I was thinking, should we tell him?” She explained that her children advised against it, saying, “Mom, no na lang. He’ll feel bad pa. ‘Wag na lang.” Ultimately, they chose not to share the news with Ricky.
Strong Bonds Despite Separation
Despite their separation, Jackie Lou emphasized that the love between Ricky and Pilita remained unbroken. Their relationship stayed strong, not just as former spouses but also as co-parents and friends. She considered this a true blessing amidst their grief.
“When Ricky and I got separated, ‘yun ‘yung hindi nawala, my mom’s love to Ricky and Ricky’s love to my mom. It was always there and that’s such a blessing to have that,” she said.
Hopeful Reunion in Heaven
Jackie Lou shared a comforting thought about Ricky and Pilita’s reunion in the afterlife. She imagined their joyful encounter: “Since nauna si mom, pagdating ni Ricky sa langit, sasabihin ni Ricky sa langit, ‘Oh, mamita! Nandito ka!’”
She added a touch of humor, imagining their exchange: “Sasabihin ni Mamita, ‘Oh!’ Tapos sasabihin ni Ricky, ‘Oh! Kanta tayo!’ Sasabihin ng mommy ko, ‘Hanggang dito ba naman, Ricky, magdu-duet pa tayo?’”
