Robbery Suspect Nabbed in Broad Daylight Holdup in Caloocan
Police swiftly arrested a robbery suspect after a brazen holdup Tuesday morning along McArthur Highway in Caloocan City. The four-word keyphrase robbery suspect nabbed in broad daylight was evident as authorities acted promptly to catch the criminal.
According to local sources, the incident happened at 10:20 a.m. near the corner of Calle Cuatro and McArthur Highway in Barangay 81. The victim, a 63-year-old company messenger, was carrying over ₱152,000 intended for a bank deposit.
How the Holdup Unfolded
Two men on a red-and-black motorcycle suddenly blocked the messenger’s path. One of them shoved the victim, brandished a handgun, and declared a holdup before fleeing with the pouch containing the cash.
Fortunately, a ride-hailing driver passing by witnessed the crime. He courageously pursued the suspects and rammed their motorcycle, causing them to crash.
Suspect Arrested, Accomplice Escapes
Nearby police officers from Bagong Barrio Police Sub-Station 5, who were on patrol, quickly arrived and arrested one suspect. The 47-year-old construction worker from Barangay 150 was found with the stolen pouch and a replica Glock pistol, believed to be the weapon used.
His accomplice, known only as “Tonyo,” managed to escape and remains at large. Authorities have announced charges for robbery with violence and illegal possession of a firearm against the arrested man.
After undergoing a medical examination, the suspect is now in police custody as investigations continue.

The Northern Police District Acting Director praised the swift action of both the police and the civilian witness. He described their teamwork as a “clear example of community partnership in action,” highlighting the importance of public cooperation in maintaining safety.
