Salvage Victim Found in Barangay Alangilan, Bacolod
BACOLOD CITY – Authorities discovered a man believed to be a salvage victim in Barangay Alangilan on Monday, June 9. The salvage victim case has stirred concern in the community as police continue their investigation.
Police Major Joeil Reclamado, officer in charge of Police Station 5, identified the deceased as Christian, a resident of Barangay Estefania. The victim was found with a visible wound on the nape. His mouth, hands, and feet were tightly bound with duct tape, and a placard near the body accused him of being a drug pusher.
Evidence and Scene Details
Police recovered five sachets of suspected shabu from Christian’s pockets. However, investigators have yet to confirm whether these drugs belonged to him or were planted by his killers. Reclamado shared that the victim might have been killed elsewhere and later dumped in the area to mislead authorities. At this time, no witnesses or surveillance footage have surfaced.
Last Known Movements and Background
Christian was last seen alive on Sunday afternoon, June 8, when he was with his sibling. He later called his family that night but disappeared afterward. Known as a call center employee, he also volunteered during the December Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE), sources said.
Police noted that Christian had no known record of illegal activities, except for a complaint related to debt. Investigators are examining whether this debt could have been a motive for the killing.
Ongoing Investigation and Next Steps
Authorities await the results of the post-mortem examination, which will reveal if the victim sustained other injuries. The community and local leaders remain vigilant as the police work to uncover the truth behind this tragic salvage victim case.
