Sara Duterte Denounces Political Attacks
Vice President Sara Duterte once again criticized the Marcos administration, insisting that neither she nor her family is the root of the country’s problems. Speaking at PDP Laban’s miting de avance for senatorial candidates, she described the current political climate as a “systematic demolition job” against their opponents.
“For months, my name and my family’s have been dragged through the mud. I repeat: I am not the problem of this country. Hindi ako ang problema ng Pilipinas. Hindi Duterte ang problema ng Pilipinas,” she declared firmly.
Who Benefits From Duterte’s Fall?
Duterte questioned who would truly gain if the Duterte family were to disappear. She pointed out that ordinary Filipinos, crime victims, the unemployed, the poor, and the hungry would not benefit from such an outcome.
Without naming names, she expressed regret that the nation elected a leader who lacks empathy and the capability to serve the people’s welfare. She also criticized the refusal of the current leader to take a public drug test and accused him of lying about making rice affordable at P20 per kilo.
ICC Arrest and Political Insults
The Vice President condemned the government for allowing the arrest of her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, and his transfer to the International Criminal Court. She further condemned the insult to Filipinos through the misuse of financial aid.
“They insult Filipinos by using ayuda to buy your votes. Ayuda itself is not bad; it helped many during the pandemic. But when it is manipulated to exploit your poverty and keep them in power, it becomes a weapon of abuse,” she said.
Call for Real Peace and Prosperity
Sara Duterte emphasized that Filipinos deserve genuine peace and prosperity, benefits that should reach beyond the rich and select politicians.
Allegations of Election Fraud
She raised alarms about possible election fraud in the upcoming May 12 elections, particularly involving the administration ticket Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas, which is allied with PDP Laban, chaired by her father.
“There are reports and whispers of moves across the country signaling widespread cheating by the Alyansa,” she warned.
She described this alliance as a dangerous mix of an incompetent administration, elitist liberals, and the Makabayan bloc, whose real agenda is to keep Filipinos poor. This coalition, she said, aims to drag the country back to the dark days of narco-politics and neglect, using poverty, lies, and power to enslave the people once again.
Vote with Courage and Dignity
With only days before the elections, Sara Duterte urged voters to stand firm and prove that no amount of vote-buying or cheating can quench the fire burning in their hearts.
