Senate and House Trust Ratings Shift in Latest Survey
Recent findings reveal a shift in public opinion regarding the Senate and House of Representatives, highlighting changes in trust and performance ratings. The Senate experienced a decline in both trust and satisfaction, while the House of Representatives saw notable improvements. These results surface from a survey conducted by a reputable research firm among Filipino adults.
The survey, held from July 12 to 17, showed the Senate’s trust rating dropped to 49 percent, down from a previous 57 percent. Meanwhile, the Senate’s performance rating also fell from 53 percent to 47 percent. This indicates that less than half of the adult Filipino population currently expresses confidence in the upper chamber’s work.
According to sources, about 10 percent of Filipinos now distrust the Senate, with a significant 41 percent undecided. The research firm also noted that 11 percent voiced dissatisfaction with the Senate’s performance, while 42 percent remain unsure.
Conversely, the House of Representatives experienced an upswing in public trust. Its trust rating rose by eight points to 57 percent, while its performance rating climbed from 47 percent to 55 percent. Only 9 percent of respondents expressed distrust or dissatisfaction with the House, although 33 to 36 percent remain undecided about their views.
“A large portion of adult Filipinos remain undecided about their trust and satisfaction with both the Senate and the House,” the research firm remarked.
