Senator Calls for Action on Missing Pasig Condo Cats
MANILA, Philippines — Senator Grace Poe has urged a thorough investigation into the mysterious disappearance of community cats at a condominium in Pasig City. Residents, who have long cared for these cats, are now seeking answers as several felines have vanished without clear explanation.
The senator highlighted the dedicated efforts of Cats of Satori (COS), a volunteer group formed by residents to ensure the welfare of cats within the condo grounds. This group has created a responsible and compassionate pet care community that regularly feeds, shelters, and manages the cats’ health through spaying and neutering.
Demand for Transparency from Property Management
Senator Poe emphasized that the property management owes a clear explanation to the families involved regarding the cats’ disappearance. “These families deserve an explanation from the property management on the disappearance of the cats,” she said during a recent statement.
She also appealed to local barangay officials to intervene by helping locate the missing cats and identify those responsible. “The promotion of animal welfare and the culture of care and concern for them is a shared responsibility,” Poe added.
Community Alarmed Over Cats Missing Since January
The issue first gained public attention after Cats of Satori posted on Facebook about several cats going missing from the community under troubling and unclear circumstances. The disappearances began as early as January and have continued up to June, raising serious concerns among volunteers and residents alike.
In response, COS has called for openness and transparency by requesting access to CCTV footage and seeking a dialogue with the condominium’s property managers. The group insists on clarifying the situation to prevent further distress and to protect the cats still in the community.
