Senator Erwin Tulfo Supports Police Response
MANILA, Philippines — Senator Erwin Tulfo has donated a police mobile car to the Philippine National Police (PNP), backing the PNP chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III’s ambitious five-minute response goal. This donation aims to boost the police force’s ability to answer emergency calls swiftly.
In a Facebook announcement on Friday, Tulfo showcased the turnover of the donated mobile unit to the PNP station at Plaza Miranda, Quiapo, Manila, emphasizing his full support for the initiative.
Backing the Five-Minute Response Goal
“Idols, it’s been a long time since there was a way for the police to respond quickly. Now that it’s actually being done, we fully support it,” Tulfo declared in his post. He concluded with, “Long live the PNP! Salute, gentlemen!”
Since assuming office in June, Gen. Torre has prioritized the five-minute police response time as a pilot program in Metro Manila. Under this plan, officers must respond to emergency calls within five minutes, a goal that aims to improve public safety and police efficiency.
PNP’s Commitment to Faster Response
Sources said the PNP has taken strict measures to ensure compliance with this target, including the recent relief of eight NCR police chiefs for failing to meet the five-minute response time. This shows the seriousness with which the PNP is pursuing this goal.
Moreover, Gen. Torre has announced plans to shorten the response time further, aiming for a three-minute target within the next three months. This push reflects the PNP’s commitment to enhancing its service to the public.
The donation of the police mobile car by Senator Tulfo is a tangible sign of support from government leaders who align with these efforts to modernize and strengthen police operations.
