Some senatorial candidates who are also senior citizens chose to vote early on Monday during the special early voting hours for the May 2025 midterm elections. Senior citizens, persons with disability, and pregnant women were allowed to cast their votes from 5 to 7 a.m., giving them a chance to avoid the rush.
Senatorial candidates vote early at polling precincts
Incumbent Senator Cynthia Villar, accompanied by her husband Manny Villar, headed to Las Piñas National Science High School to exercise their voting rights as early as possible. Meanwhile, Senator Lito Lapid arrived at Porac Elementary School in Porac, Pampanga, even as early as 5 a.m. to cast his ballot.
Former Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson also took part in the early voting, casting his vote in Imus, Cavite before the early voting period ended. On the other hand, senatorial candidate Willie Revillame went to his polling precinct in Quezon City during the same early hours.
Early voting benefits senior citizens and others
Allowing senior citizens to vote early helps ease crowding and makes the process more comfortable for them and other vulnerable groups. This initiative is part of efforts to ensure a smooth and inclusive election day for the May 2025 midterm elections.
With the early voting hours from 5 to 7 a.m., many senior citizens and persons with disability took advantage of this opportunity. It’s a reminder that every vote counts, and accessibility remains a priority in the election process.
