Senatorial Elections Vote Canvassing Wraps Up Swiftly
The Commission on Elections, acting as the National Board of Canvassers, has completed the canvassing of votes for the senatorial elections. The senatorial elections vote canvassing revealed that incumbent Senator Christopher “Bong” Go led the race with a significant margin.
According to the national certificate of canvass, Go secured 27,121,073 votes in the May 12 elections. The senatorial elections vote canvassing included a total of 66 candidates competing for senate seats.

Following Go, former Senator Bam Aquino came in second with 20,971,899 votes. Reelectionist Senator Ronald dela Rosa closely followed in third place, garnering 20,773,946 votes.
Erwin Tulfo ranked fourth with 17,118,881 votes, while ex-Senator Kiko Pangilinan placed fifth with 15,343,229 votes. Sagip Partylist Representative Rodante Marcoleta secured the sixth spot with 15,250,723 votes.
Other Senators in the Magic 12
The remaining candidates who made it to the famous “Magic 12” include Ping Lacson with 15,106,111 votes, Tito Sotto III with 14,832,996 votes, Pia Cayetano with 14,573,430 votes, Camille Villar with 13,651,274 votes, Lito Lapid with 13,394,102 votes, and Imee Marcos with 13,339,227 votes.
Details on the Canvassing Process
The National Board of Canvassers completed tallying 175 certificates of canvass over three days, starting from May 13. These certificates came from various sources: one from local absentee voting, two from overseas canvassers, 82 from provinces, 26 from highly urbanized cities, and 64 from overseas voters.
On the first day, the board canvassed 58 certificates, the highest count for a single day. The following day saw 101 certificates tallied, and the remaining 16 certificates were completed on the last day.
Although the senatorial elections vote canvassing is now complete, final results await official auditing to confirm the tallies.
