Senators Align on Supreme Court Impeachment Ruling
Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada revealed that about 19 to 20 senators agree they should respect the Supreme Court’s ruling. The decision prohibits the Senate from continuing the impeachment trial against Vice President Sara Duterte.
Estrada shared this insight after an all-senator caucus last Tuesday. During the meeting, they discussed the Supreme Court’s unanimous declaration that the impeachment complaint against Duterte is unconstitutional. This consensus among senators highlights their intent to abide by the court’s ruling and avoid further legal conflicts.
