Seven Drug Suspects Nabbed in Antipolo Buy-Bust
Authorities successfully arrested seven drug suspects and dismantled a suspected drug den in Barangay San Jose, Antipolo City, during a high-stakes buy-bust operation on Wednesday evening. The joint effort highlighted the ongoing crackdown on illegal drugs in the region.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Rizal Provincial Office teamed up with the Philippine National Police’s Regional Intelligence Unit 4A to conduct the buy-bust operation around 6:10 p.m., officials reported. The coordinated action targeted a notorious drug den suspected of illegal activities.
Details of the Arrested Suspects and Seized Items
The suspects, who were identified by their aliases as Carmelo, 40; Ian, 42; Analiza, 57; Joel, 24; Amelia, 57; Maybelyn, 21; and Zenaida, 58, were caught red-handed selling illegal drugs inside the alleged den. Community members said the operation sent a strong message against drug-related crimes in the area.
During the raid, authorities confiscated approximately seven grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of ₱47,600. In addition, drug paraphernalia and buy-bust money were seized as evidence, further strengthening the case against the suspects.
Legal Actions and Charges to Follow
Officials confirmed that criminal complaints will be filed against the arrested individuals. These charges will include selling illegal drugs, maintaining and visiting a drug den, possession of illegal substances and paraphernalia, as well as drug use. The cases will be pursued under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
