The Commission on Elections has officially announced the winning candidates in Siquijor province following the recent polls. The Department of the Interior and Local Government for the Negros Island Region extended congratulations to other officials who won in their respective towns. Among them were Ruth Aque from Enrique Villanueva, Cyrus Vincent Calibo of Larena, Phil Moore Largo representing Lazi, Roselyn Asok from Maria, Rubilyn Ragay of San Juan, and Adam Duhaylungsod from the capital town of Siquijor.

Siquijor recently became part of the newly established Negros Island Region, aligning it more closely with neighboring provinces. This administrative change is expected to foster better coordination and development initiatives in the area.

According to reports, the Commission on Elections in the Negros Island Region noted the province’s voter turnout reached 91.84 percent, with 74,758 voters casting their ballots. Community leaders said this level of participation reflects the citizens’ commitment to shaping their local government.
