Six Police Officers Ticketed in Surprise Inspection at PNP HQ

Surprise Vehicle Inspection at PNP Headquarters

At the Philippine National Police headquarters in Quezon City, six police officers were cited for traffic violations following a surprise check of vehicles. The Philippine National Police conducted this unexpected inspection to enforce compliance with traffic regulations within its premises.

During the operation, the PNP Highway Patrol Group (HPG) led the effort, inspecting over 300 vehicles and more than 500 motorcycles. The surprise vehicle inspection at PNP headquarters aimed to ensure all personnel adhere to the Land Transportation and Traffic Code of the Philippines.

Common Violations Found During Inspection

Officials reported that the most frequent offenses involved failure to present official receipts (OR) or certificates of registration (CR), as well as delinquent vehicle registrations. These lapses prompted the issuance of citation tickets to several officers.

HPG spokesperson Lt. Nadame Malamang explained that among the six police officers cited, violations included missing OR/CR documents and the improper display of police insignias on private vehicles, particularly motorcycles.

Enforcement of Republic Act No. 4136

“The HPG issued citation tickets against the six we caught,” Lt. Malamang stated. The inspection was conducted alongside other police units to guarantee strict adherence to Republic Act No. 4136, also known as the Land Transportation and Traffic Code of the Philippines.

Local officials noted that this surprise vehicle inspection at PNP headquarters serves as a reminder that even law enforcement personnel must comply with traffic laws to uphold public trust and safety.

Commitment to Transparency and Accountability

Community members praised the PNP’s initiative to inspect its own ranks, emphasizing the importance of accountability within the police force. This proactive measure helps reinforce discipline and ensures that officers lead by example on the road.
