SSS e-barangay Centers Expand Across Bulacan Communities
At least 38 barangays in Baliwag, Malolos, Meycauayan, San Jose del Monte, and Bocaue in Bulacan now offer Social Security System e-barangay centers to serve members more effectively. These centers bring SSS services closer to residents, especially senior citizen pensioners and indigent groups, enhancing convenience and accessibility.
Through the Social Security System e-barangay centers, locals can conduct various transactions without traveling far. This initiative is part of the Offsite E-Centers Online Services Training (BOOST) Program, which aims to modernize service delivery and support community needs.
BOOST Program Empowers Barangay Personnel
Nearly 100 barangay officials and staff from Malolos City and Guiguinto participated in the BOOST program seminar held on July 31. The training, led by a senior SSS official, focused on improving awareness and proficiency in managing SSS’s online services at the community level.
Local leaders noted that while these initial e-barangay centers are a significant step, more are needed to cover the remaining 534 barangays across Bulacan’s 20 towns and four cities. Expanding this network will ensure wider reach and better service for all members.
Comprehensive Online Services Available Locally
The BOOST program enables barangay residents to access various SSS online services. Members can view and update their membership records, change contact details such as email, mobile number, and address, and submit Member Data Change Requests (MDCR). They can also view or print essential documents like SSS numbers and personal records (E-1/E-4 forms).
Additionally, the centers allow members to check their contribution history, generate Payment Reference Numbers (PRNs) for contributions and loans, and pay through authorized partner channels. Self-employed and voluntary membership applications can also be submitted online.
Loan and Benefit Applications Simplified
Eligible members can apply for salary, calamity, and pension loans through the online portal. The system also supports filing benefit claims for sickness, maternity, retirement, unemployment, and funeral assistance. Members can track the status of their claims conveniently from their barangay e-centers.
Furthermore, the Disbursement Account Enrollment Module (DAEM) lets members enroll or update bank accounts and e-wallets like GCash and PayMaya, which are necessary for receiving loan proceeds or benefits.
Employment Records and Local Revenue Boost
Barangay e-centers also provide access to employment records, including employment history and updates on current or new employers for voluntary or separation reports. This feature supports members in maintaining accurate employment information with SSS.
Officials reported that partner barangays will earn a four- to six-percent service fee per transaction. This added revenue stream helps strengthen local government funds while enhancing public service.
Encouragement for Wider Participation
SSS branch heads encourage more barangays to join the BOOST program. Expanding the network will allow more residents to enjoy the convenience of SSS online services within their communities. This initiative exemplifies how government agencies and local units can collaborate to improve public service delivery.
