Rainy Monday Expected Due to Southwest Monsoon
MANILA, Philippines — The southwest monsoon, locally known as the habagat, will bring rainy weather on Monday in various parts of the country, according to weather authorities. The southwest monsoon is expected to cause persistent rains in Metro Manila, western Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, as well as parts of the Visayas and Mindanao.
Weather experts explained that the southwest monsoon will intensify rainfall particularly over Calabarzon provinces (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon), the Bicol region, and Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan). These areas should prepare for wet conditions throughout the day.
Weather Outlook Across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao
Aside from the western sections, the rest of Luzon is likely to experience fair weather with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and a chance of isolated thunderstorms. Meanwhile, the western parts of Visayas and Mindanao are also expected to see rainfall brought by the southwest monsoon. The remaining areas in Visayas and Mindanao will generally have fair weather but with possible localized thunderstorms.
