Southwest Monsoon Rains Continue Across Luzon
Rains brought by the southwest monsoon will continue to affect parts of Luzon through midweek, local sources said. The southwest monsoon rains, also known as habagat, are expected to persist mainly over the western areas of Northern and Central Luzon from Tuesday to Wednesday, June 3 to 4.
A weather expert explained that these monsoon rains may last continuously but with short breaks, especially during the morning to midday hours. The rain typically resumes in the late afternoon or evening, possibly continuing into the early morning.
Cloudy Skies and Thunderstorms in Luzon Regions
Cloudy weather with scattered rains and thunderstorms will also be felt in the Cordillera Administrative Region, much of Central Luzon, and western parts of Southern Luzon during this period. The wet conditions are expected to ease by Thursday to Friday, June 5 to 6, when fewer areas will experience the habagat.
Weather Improving Towards Week’s End
From Thursday onwards, Metro Manila and most parts of Luzon should see improving weather. The skies will clear up with less cloud cover, leading to warmer and more humid afternoons. However, some provinces like Zambales, Bataan, and Palawan may still face cloudy skies accompanied by scattered rain showers.
Fair Weather Expected in Visayas and Mindanao
Meanwhile, the Visayas and Mindanao regions can expect mostly fair weather throughout the forecast period. Occasional isolated rain showers or localized thunderstorms are possible in certain areas but overall, the climate remains relatively dry.
