Speaker Romualdez’s Higher Ratings Signal Strong Leadership

Speaker Romualdez’s Higher Ratings Reflect Public Trust

House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez’s higher ratings demonstrate his effective leadership in the House of Representatives, local leaders noted. Senior Deputy Speaker David Suarez and Deputy Speaker Janette Garin highlighted that the latest OCTA Research survey confirms the public’s approval of Romualdez’s push for transparency.

“These numbers are not just statistics,” Suarez emphasized. “They show how Speaker Romualdez’s leadership is felt nationwide.” The Speaker’s trust rating rose from 54 to 57 percent, while his performance rating climbed by four points to 59 percent, according to the survey.

Trust and Performance Ratings Surge Nationwide

The survey results revealed that Romualdez’s higher ratings improved across all major regions and socioeconomic classes. Suarez explained this signals that Filipinos appreciate the Speaker’s dedication to transparency and responsible budgeting.

“In the Visayas, especially, people see the impact of his support for essential programs,” Garin shared. “The 66 percent trust rating there reflects direct benefits to the community.”

Only Romualdez and President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. showed gains among the country’s top officials. Marcos’ trust rating went up by four points to 64 percent, with a performance increase of three points to 62 percent. Meanwhile, Vice President Sara Duterte and Senate President Francis Escudero experienced declines.

Public Recognizes Results-Oriented Leadership

Suarez added that the public’s positive response—from Metro Manila to Visayas and across all social classes—demonstrates awareness and appreciation of tangible results. “You don’t earn these ratings through press releases. You earn them by doing the work,” he said.

He also stressed that public support is both an achievement and a challenge. “Under Speaker Romualdez’s guidance, the House is committed to meeting this challenge head-on.”

Romualdez Commits to Continued Reform

Romualdez called the survey an encouraging sign that the people support the reforms being implemented. “These gains cut across all regions and socioeconomic groups, showing people want honest leadership and real outcomes,” he said.

He pledged to continue working quietly but decisively to ensure public funds are used efficiently, infrastructure projects remain corruption-free, and basic services reach those who need them most.
