Taguig Police Arrest Street-Level Drug Personality
Police officers successfully apprehended a newly identified street-level drug personality in a recent buy-bust operation in an EMBO barangay in Taguig City on June 5. The arrest took place in Barangay South Cembo, a known area where illegal drug activities have been reported.
The suspect, known by the alias Drick, 25, was caught at the intersection of Ricarte and President R. Magsaysay Streets. Authorities revealed that the operation was carefully planned and executed by the Taguig Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Unit.
Seizure of Illegal Items and Evidence
During the operation, police confiscated seven plastic sachets containing a total of 27.8 grams of shabu, which is valued at approximately P189,040. Alongside the drugs, they also recovered a coin purse used to store the narcotics, a genuine P500 bill that was marked as buy-bust money, and a P1,000 boodle money.
The suspect is currently in police custody and will face formal charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Local sources noted the authorities’ commitment to intensifying their campaign against illegal drugs in the community.
