Suspect Apprehended in Quezon City Akyat-bahay Case
Authorities arrested a suspect involved in an akyat-bahay case after a follow-up operation conducted by local police in Barangay Tatalon, Quezon City. The incident occurred early morning on May 14, when the suspect reportedly broke into a residence by damaging an exhaust fan to gain entry.
According to reports from community sources, the suspect entered the victim’s home at around 3:35 a.m. and stole several personal belongings. The homeowner discovered the break-in approximately 29 hours later, at 8 a.m. on May 15, and immediately notified the police. CCTV footage from the house captured the act, aiding authorities in identifying the suspect.

Following the report, police officers conducted a pursuit and successfully apprehended the suspect on Victory Avenue within Quezon City. He was identified as Jayson, a 28-year-old resident of Barangay Tatalon.
Upon arrest, officers recovered an improvised firearm known as a “pen gun,” loaded with live .38 caliber ammunition. This discovery added to the charges that Jayson now faces.

The suspect is set to face multiple charges, including robbery, violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act (R.A. 10501), and offenses under the Omnibus Election Code (B.P. 881) related to Comelec Resolution No. 11067.
