Suspect Wounded in Lanao del Sur Drug Bust Operation
Authorities in Lanao del Sur successfully conducted a buy-bust operation that led to the recovery of P2.77 million worth of suspected shabu. During the operation, a suspect was wounded after an armed confrontation, officials reported.
Buy-Bust Operation Targets Suspected Drug Dealer
On Friday afternoon, regional and provincial units of the Philippine National Police (PNP), together with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), targeted a suspect in Barangay Ampao, Bacolod-Kalawi town. The suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed, was the focus of the coordinated effort to curb illegal drug activities in the area.
Armed Confrontation Leads to Suspect’s Injury
According to sources, the buy-bust operation escalated into an armed confrontation. As a result, the suspect sustained gunshot wounds. Immediate medical assistance was provided when the suspect was rushed to Amai Pakpak Medical Center for treatment.
Recovered Items and Legal Proceedings
Community members noted that authorities recovered a total of 406.9 grams of suspected shabu. In addition, a 9mm pistol loaded with 10 live rounds and six spent cartridges was seized from the suspect. Following medical treatment, the suspect was turned over to the Bacolod-Kalawi Municipal Police Station for formal charges.

Officials reported the suspect is facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Dangerous Drugs Act. This law imposes strict penalties on the manufacture, sale, and possession of illegal drugs in the Philippines.
