Suspected Salvage Victim Found in Malvar Batangas
On June 3, authorities discovered the body of a suspected salvage or summary execution victim in Malvar, Batangas. The victim was described as a Caucasian male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, bald, with a mustache and a large build. He wore a dark blue Fred Perry polo shirt, cream linen pants, and dark blue Lacoste socks.
Police confirmed that closed-circuit television footage from June 2 at around 10:22 p.m. showed a white SUV with license plate NKE-9496 stopping at the exact location where the body was found. A witness came forward the same day and verified the footage. He reported seeing two men and one woman exit the vehicle and discard a black garbage bag while the driver stayed inside. The witness positively identified the female suspect, noting the vehicle’s cabin light was on.
Police Pursue Suspects After Vehicle Tracking
Authorities, working with the Land Transportation Office, traced the vehicle’s registered owner to a man named Alan from Taguig City. Alan revealed that he rented the SUV to Kathleen, a 41-year-old contract lawyer from Parañaque City. Using GPS tracking, police located the vehicle at a beach resort in Lian, Batangas.
On June 4, the witness again identified Kathleen as the woman involved in dumping the body. Police arrested her and brought her to the Malvar Municipal Police Station for questioning. During the arrest, officers found a Glock .40 caliber pistol with 15 bullets in her bag. Kathleen could not present any firearm permits, and further checks showed the gun was registered to someone else. She has no license to own or carry firearms.
Charges Filed and Manhunt Ongoing
The following day, authorities filed charges against Kathleen and three unidentified suspects, including murder and violations of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act (Republic Act 10591) as well as the Omnibus Election Code (Batas Pambansa Bilang 881). The victim’s identity remains unknown as of this report.
Meanwhile, police continue their manhunt for the remaining suspects involved in this case. Local sources said the investigation is ongoing, and authorities are intensifying their efforts to bring all responsible parties to justice.
