Teen Caught with P204,000 Shabu in Parañaque School
Authorities apprehended a 16-year-old student found with shabu inside Parañaque National High School, sources reported. The Southern Police District (SPD) confirmed the incident, emphasizing the seriousness of drug possession among youth.
Discovery and Arrest Inside School Grounds
According to officials, the student was reported to the police early Tuesday morning after the school principal alerted authorities. Working alongside school personnel and the guidance counselor, police conducted a search that uncovered a kitchen knife and a blue plastic bag bearing a Lazada logo.
Inside the bag were 10 heat-sealed transparent sachets containing suspected shabu. The total weight of the seized drugs was approximately 30 grams, with an estimated street value of P204,000, community members said.
Details on the Suspect and Legal Process
Authorities only identified the minor by the initials “G.A.R.” The teen was immediately turned over to the city police’s women’s desk. Coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development is underway to determine the proper handling of the case.
SPD Director Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo highlighted the priority of protecting youth from the dangers of drugs. “While the student will still face appropriate charges in due time and in accordance with the law, our foremost priority is to rescue and protect the youth from the perils of drugs,” he said.
Next Steps for Evidence and Investigation
The confiscated suspected shabu has been sent to the SPD Forensic Unit for laboratory analysis to confirm its nature and purity, officials reported. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to address drug-related issues within the school community.
