TESDA Women’s Center Offers Skills Training for Empowerment

The TESDA Women’s Center (TWC), located at Gate 1 of the TESDA Complex in Taguig City, offers a range of skills training designed to empower women through education and employment. As one of TESDA’s specialized facilities, the center focuses on technical programs that enhance women’s capabilities in various industries. These TESDA Women’s Center programs are part of the agency’s effort to promote gender equality in skills development and economic participation.

The center provides accessible training opportunities for women who are at least 15 years old and have either taken the National Career Assessment Examination (NCAE) or completed a Career Profiling and Trainability Evaluation. The courses vary in length, ranging from one month to seven and a half months, depending on the program.

Among the many available courses, the most in-demand are:

  • Automotive Servicing NC II – 7.5 months
  • Cookery NC II – 5 months
  • Bartending NC II – 2 months
  • Dressmaking NC II – 5 months
  • Food and Beverage Services NC II – 4 months
  • Housekeeping NC II – 5 months
  • Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) NC II – 2.5 months
  • Plumbing NC II – 1 month
  • Pharmacy Services NC II – 2.5 months

Shorter, focused courses are also available under Consumer Electronics Servicing NC II. These include:

  • Assembly/Disassemble Electronic Products & Systems – 3.5 months
  • Maintain & Repair Audio/Video Systems – 4.5 months
  • Repair Electronically-Controlled Domestic Appliances – 4 months
  • Cellphone Repair – 4 months

Entry Requirements and Application Details

To enroll in any of the TESDA Women’s Center programs, applicants must personally apply at the TWC Information and Referral Office. Application hours run from Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Applicants should bring the following:

  • Two 1×1 colored ID photos with a white background
  • A working ballpen

This straightforward application process ensures accessibility and encourages more women to pursue training that can lead to stable employment or entrepreneurship. With each program carefully designed to meet labor market needs, TWC plays a crucial role in national workforce development.
