Three Drug Suspects Arrested in Cavite
Authorities made significant arrests of three drug suspects in Cavite during separate buy-bust operations held on Tuesday and Wednesday, seizing over P541,000 worth of shabu and an illegal firearm, officials reported. The crackdown demonstrates intensified efforts against illegal drugs in the region.
Operations Lead to Seizure of Shabu and Firearm
In Dasmariñas City, the police drug enforcement unit apprehended two suspects identified as Edward and Heidelyn at around 2 a.m. on Wednesday in Barangay Paliparan 3. They were caught after allegedly selling a pack of shabu to an undercover officer, sources said.
Authorities recovered four plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 57.63 grams. The Dangerous Drugs Board values the seized drugs at approximately P391,884, priced at P6,800 per gram. Additionally, police confiscated an undocumented .45-caliber pistol loaded with one bullet from the suspects.
Edward is tagged as a high-value individual (HVI) in the illegal drug trade, while Heidelyn is listed as a known street pusher. HVIs include financiers, traffickers, manufacturers, importers of illegal drugs, or leaders and members of drug groups, local leaders noted.
Separate Arrest in Imus City
Meanwhile, in Imus City, anti-narcotics operatives arrested Estrella in a sting operation conducted at 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday in Barangay Alapan 2-B. The suspect, also identified as a street pusher, was found with two sachets of suspected shabu weighing 22 grams, valued at P149,600, community members said.
Police also seized a motorcycle believed to be used by Estrella in her illegal activities. All three suspects remain in police custody and face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Edward and Heidelyn will also be charged with illegal possession of a firearm, officials confirmed.
