Three Injured in Marikina Explosion at Armscor Facility
MANILA, Philippines — Three individuals sustained injuries following an explosion at the Armscor Global Defense Inc. plant in Marikina City on Monday afternoon. The incident was reported by the city’s disaster risk reduction and management office (DRRMO).
The local DRRMO, through its official Marikina Rescue 161 page, confirmed receiving the explosion report in Barangay Fortune at about 2:41 p.m. Meanwhile, Armscor released a statement saying the blast happened around 2:15 p.m. in the ammunition section of their manufacturing plant.
Immediate Emergency Response and Support
According to the company, emergency response teams were promptly dispatched following safety protocols to prevent further harm or damage. “Three of our employees were rushed to the hospital to receive treatment for their injuries,” the statement added, emphasizing ongoing support for the affected workers.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the explosion. Local officials and company representatives are cooperating fully to determine what triggered the incident.
