Three Men Killed in Ambush Along National Road in Cagayan
Three men were killed in an ambush along the national road in Barangay Naddungan, Gattaran town, Cagayan, while two others were wounded, local sources said. The attack happened Wednesday morning, leaving the victims’ vehicle riddled with bullets.
Among those killed was Kit Diaz from La Purisima, Aliaga, Nueva Ecija. His brother, whose name remains undisclosed, and another unidentified man also died at the scene. Meanwhile, two wounded victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.
Details of the Ambush Incident
Authorities reported that the victims were traveling in a Chevrolet SUV with the plate number TLW-188 when three armed men ambushed them. The assailants arrived in a blue Hyundai Reina SUV and opened fire on the vehicle around 10 a.m.
After the attack, the gunmen dragged the lifeless bodies from the Chevrolet SUV and left them on the roadside. They then escaped using the victims’ vehicle, heading north toward the interior regions of Cagayan.
Ongoing Investigation and Leads
Investigators are currently following several leads. One suspect is believed to be a former police officer from Buguey town. Authorities continue to probe the motive behind the ambush.
