Three Women Arrested in Quezon City Theft Operation
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) successfully apprehended three female suspects in a theft case during an anti-criminality drive by the District Traffic Enforcement Unit (DTEU) on Monday, June 9. The early morning operation targeted street crimes and led to the arrest of the suspects along Don Fabian Street, at the corner of Commonwealth Avenue.
The three women, identified by sources as alias “Cristina,” 42, alias “Mary Ann,” 39, both from Barangay Minuyan, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, and alias “Elizabeth,” 39, from Camarin, Caloocan City, were caught stealing mobile phones from two women waiting for a public utility jeepney bound for Philcoa.
Theft Incident and Immediate Police Response
According to reports, the theft took place around 6:45 a.m. as the victims waited for transportation. Observant bystanders noticed the crime and helped confront the suspects, prompting quick action by Traffic Sector 5 personnel from the DTEU. The stolen phones, a Samsung Galaxy A06 and an Oppo A15, were promptly recovered from the suspects.
Suspects’ Criminal Records and Charges
The Investigation Solution Automatic Verification (ISAV) system revealed that alias “Mary Ann” has prior cases involving illegal gambling in 2018 and multiple theft charges from 2019 to 2023. Alias “Elizabeth” had a theft case filed in February 2023, while alias “Cristina” faced theft charges in 2023 and 2024, along with an illegal gambling case in April 2024.
All three suspects have been formally charged with theft before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office. Local leaders noted that these arrests are part of ongoing efforts to curb street crimes in the area.
