Thunderstorm Advisory Hits Luzon Areas Tuesday Afternoon
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has issued a thunderstorm advisory covering several Luzon regions on Tuesday afternoon. Residents in these areas should be alert for sudden weather changes.
According to Pagasa’s 1:40 p.m. update, moderate to heavy rain showers accompanied by lightning and strong winds are expected within the next two hours. The thunderstorm advisory specifically targets Nueva Ecija, Bataan, Batangas, and Bulacan.
Nearby Areas Also Experience Severe Weather
Along with the primary areas under advisory, other parts of Luzon are facing similar weather conditions that may last for two hours and could impact surrounding locations. These include Metro Manila cities such as Muntinlupa and Las Piñas; numerous municipalities in Cavite like Bacoor, Imus, and Dasmariñas; Laguna towns including San Pedro and Santa Rosa; and parts of Quezon province such as Panukulan and Burdeos.
Further, Rizal’s Antipolo, Zambales towns including Santa Cruz and Masinloc, Tarlac municipalities like San Jose and Capas, and Pampanga’s Porac are also affected. The state weather bureau urges residents in all these areas to prepare for hazards that may arise, including flash floods and landslides.
Weather Patterns Influencing Current Conditions
Pagasa’s early morning bulletin noted that a low-pressure area within the Philippine area of responsibility, combined with the southwest monsoon known locally as “habagat,” is influencing the weather across much of the country. This pattern is expected to bring more rainfall and unsettled weather in the coming days.
Local officials and community leaders have been advised to monitor the situation closely and assist residents in taking precautionary measures. The public is reminded to stay updated through official sources and avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather.
