Thunderstorm Alerts Across Metro Manila and Luzon
MANILA, Philippines — A thunderstorm swept across Metro Manila and eight other Luzon provinces on Sunday morning, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported. Residents in these areas were warned of moderate to heavy rain and strong winds expected within the next two hours.
In a 7:42 a.m. advisory, Pagasa listed the affected areas where the thunderstorm is actively occurring. These include Metro Manila, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bataan, Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Quezon, and Rizal.

Severe Rainfall in Zambales and Nearby Areas
Meanwhile, heavy rains were reported in several towns within Zambales, including San Antonio, Subic, San Felipe, San Narciso, Cabangan, Botolan, Iba, Palauig, and Masinloc. Pagasa also cautioned residents that the downpour may extend to nearby locations.
“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards, which include flash floods and landslides,” sources said, urging vigilance amid the severe weather.
Weather Conditions and Forecast
Earlier reports from the local weather bureau indicated that the western regions of the country would experience overcast skies and rain due to the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat. Aside from the thunderstorm areas, scattered localized thunderstorms were expected to prevail across other parts of the country.
