Tingog Party-list Donates 10 Starlink Internet Kits
TACLOBAN CITY – The Tingog party-list recently handed over 10 Starlink internet kits to the provincial government of Eastern Samar. This donation aims to boost digital connectivity in remote areas and improve government service delivery for far-flung communities.
Facilitated through Governor Ralph Vincent “RV” Evardone, the donation supports the province’s ongoing digital transformation campaign. The 4-word keyphrase “Starlink internet kits to” plays a vital role in this initiative, which focuses on bringing technology closer to the people.
Starlink Internet Kits to Enhance Barangay Services
Governor Evardone, in his first term, has prioritized technology to promote inclusive, efficient, and accessible governance. The Starlink kits—portable satellite-based internet devices—will be installed in remote barangays under his flagship program, “Kapitolyo ha Barangay.”
This project aims to set up localized service centers in all 597 barangays across Eastern Samar, ensuring that essential government services reach even the most isolated communities.
Bringing Critical Services Closer
The satellite offices will provide various services, including medical and educational assistance, livelihood support, transportation and burial aid, and programs from the Department of Social Welfare and Development, such as Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations.
“This partnership brings us closer to our goal of faster, more inclusive and responsive public service. Digitalization is no longer a luxury — it is a necessity,” Gov. Evardone said during the turnover ceremony on July 14. He expressed gratitude to the Tingog party-list and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) for their continued support.
Complementing DICT’s Digital Bridge Efforts
The donation aligns with DICT’s ongoing mission to narrow the digital divide in the region. According to local officials, there are currently 123 active Starlink installations in Eastern Samar, with an additional 110 kits scheduled for deployment soon.
Expanding internet access is expected to foster a more transparent, accountable, and digitally empowered provincial government. Ultimately, this will allow even the most remote barangays to access vital public services and development opportunities.
Local leaders noted that this technology infusion marks a significant step toward transforming governance in Eastern Samar, making services more efficient and accessible to all citizens.
