New Tourist Rest Area in Lingayen
A new tourist rest area in Lingayen is set to open soon, promising essential facilities that will enhance the visitor experience. Officials reported that this development is part of efforts to boost tourism in Pangasinan.
Marco Sales, a tourism operations officer at the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office, confirmed during a recent forum that the tourist rest area in Lingayen town is fully completed. He added that they aim to welcome visitors within the next few months.
Comprehensive Amenities for Visitors
“It has a charging station, pasalubong center, possibly a café. It has restrooms to cater to visitors and shower rooms for beachgoers; it’s a one-stop shop,” Sales said. Community members noted that these features will provide convenience for both local and foreign tourists.
Located near the popular Lingayen Beach, the facility is designed to offer a variety of services in one location. This will improve the overall comfort and satisfaction of travelers exploring the area.
Eco-Friendly Features Highlight Sustainability
The tourist rest area was funded with a P10 million budget from the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA). Local leaders highlighted that the project includes sustainability elements such as solar-powered roofs and rainwater catchment systems.
These green features emphasize the province’s commitment to environmental responsibility while promoting tourism. Officials reported that this approach aligns with national goals for sustainable development.
First of Its Kind in Pangasinan
Sales emphasized that this is the first tourist rest area in Pangasinan. He explained that once operational, the facility will provide significant benefits to local businesses, transport operators, and tourism stakeholders.
“Once operational, the TRA will benefit local businesses, transport operators, and tourism stakeholders by boosting visitor satisfaction and encouraging longer stays. The project reflects a collaborative effort to elevate Pangasinan as a key destination in northern Luzon,” said the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office.
Project Timeline and Community Impact
Construction of the tourist rest area began in February of this year. Community members expressed optimism that the facility will help increase tourism traffic and stimulate the local economy.
With its strategic location and modern amenities, the rest area is expected to serve as a vital stopover for travelers, enhancing the overall appeal of Lingayen and the surrounding areas.
