TRABAHO Partylist Supports Tupad Program
TRABAHO Partylist reaffirms its strong backing for the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Tupad program. This initiative plays a crucial role in helping marginalized and vulnerable Filipinos through emergency employment and skills training.
Recently, 15 female persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) from Puerto Princesa City Jail joined a Tupad training. This effort aims to prepare them with job skills, easing their return to society after incarceration. Such programs ensure that no Filipino is left behind in the nation’s path to inclusive growth.
How Tupad Helps Displaced Workers
Tupad offers short-term jobs and livelihood aid to displaced workers, underemployed individuals, seasonal laborers, and other disadvantaged groups. Beneficiaries often engage in community projects like clean-up drives, repairing infrastructure, and environmental tasks, usually lasting up to 30 days.
TRABAHO Partylist stresses its commitment to serving sectors often overlooked by mainstream economic programs. These include PDLs, solo parents, indigenous peoples, senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and informal workers such as street vendors and construction laborers.
Promoting Dignified Work for All Filipinos
“Our mission is to create dignified jobs for every Filipino, especially those on society’s margins. Programs like Tupad provide not just temporary income but also hope and purpose,” said a TRABAHO spokesperson.
They continue to push for more funding and wider reach of programs like Tupad, especially in urban poor areas, remote barangays, and places recovering from disasters or conflict.
True economic progress happens only when opportunities reach the most vulnerable. As the country recovers from economic challenges, collaboration between DOLE and lawmakers like TRABAHO Partylist is key to building a fairer and more resilient workforce.
