Three Areas Under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal

Three areas remain under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 4 as Typhoon Emong, also known internationally as Co-may, slowly moves along the Pangasinan coast, sources said. The weather agency confirmed that Emong was last spotted over the coastal waters of Burgos, Pangasinan, tracking east-southeastward at a slow pace.

The Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal has prompted local authorities to issue warnings and prepare for possible impacts. Residents in affected regions are urged to stay vigilant and follow updates closely as the typhoon continues to affect the area.

Marcos Calls for Semi-Permanent Disaster Response Plans

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. emphasized the need to establish semi-permanent disaster response arrangements. He highlighted that the frequent typhoons, intensified by climate change, have become the new normal, causing significant damage across the country.

“These typhoons and weather disturbances are no longer unusual,” Marcos said, stressing the importance of adapting government measures to the evolving climate realities.

In light of the recent weather disturbances causing class suspensions, President Bongbong Marcos revealed that the government is actively seeking alternative teaching methods. This move aims to ensure that students continue learning despite interruptions caused by the storms.
